Describe your current work:
We are missionaries to the Jewish people and are assigned to the New England area—home to approximately ¼ million Jewish people. We are headquartered in Newton, MA, which has the largest Jewish population of any town in the Boston area (Newton is 1/3 Jewish). We also serve in short-term outreaches in Israel (Oded’s homeland). Oded is co-leading an outreach there (Israel Behold Your God) this spring. The core of our ministry is one on one visits with Jewish people, teaching them from a Jewish standpoint that Jesus is their Messiah and Savior, discipling them into the Body of our Messiah, and anchoring them into a local church so that they might be baptized and use their gifts to serve the Lord. We also do street witnessing (more so when the weather permits), such as sorties in front of universities like Boston University or Harvard, or in very Jewish areas like Coolidge Corner, Brookline. We also gather volunteers to do sorties during major events such as the Boston Marathon, July 4th Festivities at the Esplanade, and an annual outreach at Province Town, etc. We are very thankful to you for your generous support that is such a help and blessing to our service to God. Thank you for believing in us and standing with us so that we might share the hope we have in Jesus with the Jewish people and anyone else willing to listen.
Important Prayer and Family Needs:
Please pray for our family to be saved.
Thank you so much for your outpouring of prayers and emails when Linda passed away last month. You were a great comfort to me. I attended her funeral and a luncheon that followed at the family home. I was deeply touched and encouraged when her husband and other family members hugged and thanked me for being in her life. Her aunt told me that Linda mentioned how much I had helped her spiritually. (This I didn't know.) For sure, the Lord softened hearts and poured out His favor. A certain Jewish family friend (who last year did not want to be in the same room with me) accepted a ride to the train station, and by time we reached the station, even asked me to come visit her some time. I also learned that the day before Linda died, she told her best friend Phyllis that she wished she could believe in Jesus. I am hoping and trusting that perhaps God might have granted her this wish. I am ever thankful to you for each prayer offered up on her behalf.
MIKE-- BOLD IN HIS WITNESS!
Oded continues to meet with new Jewish believer Mike. Mike was baptized last November and has already taken a seminar on witnessing. He, his wife Tanya, and other church friends went to a shopping mall to share their faith. Mike has volunteered to train and lead future outreaches at his church. He also recently visited the synagogue he used to attend and challenged his Jewish friends with questions while also sharing what he believed. Surprisingly, they didn't take it too badly. Please pray for Mike and Tanya to be mightily used by God and for the Lord to save his family (who did take it somewhat hard).
