Bethany Christian Services is a private child welfare agency. It is a non-profit pro-life agency supported by individuals and churches.  Bethany has twenty-nine offices across the United States and has international adoption programs in twelve countries. Bethany provides pro-life counseling to women with unplanned pregnancies.  Bethany is licensed to complete adoptive home studies for Christian couples desiring to adopt. They also provide training about adoption for Pregnancy Care Centers, hospitals, etc. 
A licensed foster home for the agency, care for infants and toddlers during the decision making time prior to the children returning to their birth families or being placed for adoption. Bethany supplies pregnancy counseling for unplanned pregnancies, adoptive home studies, community and Faith Based Initiative bridging needs of children in care of NH DCYF with those individuals in the community who want to provide foster or adoptive homes or support in other ways.

Describe your current work:
Jan is the director of the NH BCS office (including Vermont). She completes adoptive home studies, meets women with unplanned pregnancies, and supervises one full time and three part time staff in NH and one half time staff in Vermont and Massachusetts.  They have two grants in NH to recruit foster and adoptive families for waiting children in NH.  We provide pregnancy counseling for women facing unplanned pregnancies. We are a licensed child placing agency so we can provide foster care and adoption services. We also complete home studies for Christian families desiring to adopt through BCS’s domestic or international adoption programs. Bethany has adoption programs in NH to recruit and retain foster and adoption families for children in care of the NHDCYF.

• For my family and me, peace and strength as we grieve the loss of my husband.
• We are currently re-applying for the Community and Faith Based Initiative Grant with the NH Division of Children Youth and Families.
• For all staff to represent the Lord well and draw people to Him.
• For wisdom in counseling the clients that come to us for services and balancing the needs of all the clients as well as the need to meet all paperwork requirements of Bethany Christian Services, the State etc.
• For expectant mothers to choose to make an adoptive plan instead of aborting their child. For waiting adoptive parents who are praying for a child and wondering if the Lord has forgotten them.
