Our Purpose: Making Christ the Centerpoint of our Community.

What we mean by this is that our faith in Jesus is to be at the center of our lives. Faith is not to be just a component but an integral part of our lives. We want Jesus to direct our lives 24/7. We accomplish our purpose, making Christ the Centerpoint, by proclaiming the message of Jesus, through word and deed, to our community and the world and by living as examples of His truths.

Our Prayer: Prayer is Central.

We believe that prayer is the basis of our commitment to Christ and our community. Our goal is for our people to live a life of continual communion with Christ through prayer. Prayer is to be a way of life, not a part of life. There are opportunities for corporate prayer and prayers for individual concerns on Sunday. There are groups that meet during the week to specifically pray for the church’s ministry and for individual concerns. Immediate prayer needs are sent out via email to call our people to prayer.

Our Worship: Making Christ Present and Relevant to our Community.

Our worship services are designed to help people connect to Christ, to feel His Presence with them through the week and to understand the relevance of His presence to our daily lives. To accomplish this we use a variety of worshipful expressions. Our choice of music is mostly contemporary, but also includes traditional hymns. Musicians may share a classical composition or a piece with a country sound. We are commited to have everyone feel welcome and at home at our services.

service2Our Life of Service: We Serve God by Serving Others.

The Christian life is a life of serving others. God had equipped us for this life of service with what the Bible calls “spiritual gifts.” We are to discover, develop, and utilize these gifts. It is in this service that we honor God and fulfill His purposes for our individual lives and our church.

Our Teaching is Bible Based: Our Teaching is to reveal the Central Truth of Jesus from the Bible.

The goal of our teaching is that we may grow in our faith and become more like Jesus. Teaching from the pulpit or in classes focuses on what God has revealed in the Bible concerning our life of faith and service to Jesus by serving others. Sermons may be a series through a book of the Bible or a series on a particular topic related to our life. People are encouraged to read their Bible daily and bring it to the services.

Our Relationship: We are to Love One Another

Relationships are the glue that binds us to our Lord and to one another. We seek to facilitate the development of genuine, deep, and lasting relationships within the congregation. The primary method of facilitating these relationships is our emphasis on small groups meeting in homes.

Our Connection to Other Christians: Encouraging Faith Whenever Possible

Just as we want to make Christ the centerpoint of our lives, we also want to encourage Christians from all faith traditions to make Christ the centerpoint. Therefore we want to be connected and involved with other Christians as much as possible. We support a variety of missionary organizations and cooperate with other local churches in collective ministries. We want to do this whenever possible. This does not mean we affirm every teaching or practice of other traditions. We would not participate with other churches when there was some form of major conflict over the project, but we are not separatists.

Our Connection to Our Community: Making Christ the Centerpoint.

We want to be connected and involved with our local community in order to have as much influence for Christ as possible. We are called to be “salt” and “light;” both are metaphors of influence. We encourage our people to get involved with local activities as often as possible. We want our community to appreciate our church’s contribution to the life of our community. We want people in the community to come to faith through our example and sharing of our faith in Jesus with them in both word and deed.
